There’s news from YouTube Japan today that local broadcaster Fuji TV is opening six new channels on the video streaming site, targeting both domestic and international fans. Among the channels to be included are:
- Fuji News Network
- Shinpou michi 2001 web edition (coming soon)
- BS Fuji Live Prime News (coming soon)
- Fuji TV ni detaijin
- Idoling!!!
- Fuji Television Anime channel [1]
Fuji Television also has webpage showcasing the new channels over at fujitv.co.jp/doga.
I can’t imagine that it is easy to bring Japanese broadcasters into the online world, so it’s good to see Fuji TV jumping on board. It was just earlier this month that Fuji TV On Demand became available on smartphones [2]. The company also partnered with game developer Rovio last month to bring Angry Birds to Japanese fans via the Fuji TV website.
You can check out a sample video for the Idoling channel below. It’s a little wacky, but it’s certainly… erm… scenic if nothing else.
