YouTrip adds ex-Sequoia partner to its board

Singapore neobank YouTrip has onboarded Tim Lee, an angel investor and former partner at Sequoia Capital, to serve on the former’s board of directors.

Following the move, which came into effect on April 1, Lee will oversee YouTrip’s strategic business growth and help strengthen partner relations.

Lee brings almost two decades of experience building and investing in tech startups across Southeast Asia and Silicon Valley. He has invested in companies such as Ajaib, Payfazz, and Intellect and has worked with firms like Data.ai, Pocket Gems, and WhatsApp during his five-year stint with Sequoia Capital.

He also held roles at Google and McKinsey and founded machine learning-backed sports media company Avid AI and podcasting startup UP.audio before Sequoia.

The appointment follows YouTrip’s US$30 million series A raise late last year in an all-cash round from Asian family offices and fintech investors.
