Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z shows off new weapons in epic trailer

We’ve seen a lot of zombies in video games. We’ve seen common people vs. zombies, pirates vs. zombies, shoot we’ve even seen plants vs. zombies. Every year we get more and more zombie games, and to be honest, it’s getting a little stale. So when I heard that Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z would be ninjaing through hordes of the undead, I was a little disappointed.

Then Yaiba’s new trailer, posted on the Koei Tecmo youtube page, won me over.

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z looks to be epic, zany, and one of the most action-packed titles I’ve seen in a while. In this new video, Yaiba shows off two new weapons including his rocket launcher, which he refers to as Pocket Rocket, and a scythe made of a demon bone called Shoulder Blade. His new weapons mixed with the art styling shows that the game is not going to take itself seriously and is all about having fun. Which is really nice to see.

Also in the video we see Ninja Gaiden series mainstay Ryu Hayabusa facing off with this new title’s main character Yaiba Kamikaze in one crazy fight.

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z will be released in Japan on March 6, 2014 and will then see an international release starting March 18. The game will be available on the Playstation 3, XBox 360, PC, and iOS devices.
