Prenetics Group Limited, a genetic and diagnostic testing firm based in Hong Kong, has named Joel Neoh as both the group’s chief consumer officer and managing director of CircleDNA, its consumer health business.
CircleDNA offers consumer DNA tests to help users make informed decisions about their health. The platform said it has over 300,000 customers globally.
In a statement, Prenetics said CircleDNA has gained significant traction in Southeast Asia, where a growing percentage of the population has become more affluent and health-conscious.
CircleDNA is also expanding into new verticals and services, such as blood tests, telehealth services, personalized supplements, and online-to-offline healthcare services. These new products and services are scheduled to roll out within the next 12 months.
For Neoh, being back in business was a quick decision. In February, he stepped down from his role as CEO of Fave, a fintech firm he co-founded in 2015. His exit came about two years after Fave was snapped up by India-based merchant platform Pine Labs in a US$45 million deal.
Meanwhile, Prenetics added Covid-19 testing kits to its list of products when the pandemic hit. The firm recently merged with Artisan Acquisition Corp, a special purpose acquisition company, to list on the Nasdaq.
As of March 31, 2023, Prenetics said it holds US$224.1 million in cash and other short-term assets.
