The two founders of Indonesian e-commerce TokoBagus, Arnold Sebastian Egg and Remco Lupker (pictured right), yesterday announced their departure from the e-commerce company to look for another adventure. They have left business matters in the hands of Michal Klar, who was previously acting as the TokoBagus managing director, to be in charge of the entire TokoBagus site. Detik cites Arnold’s explanation regarding their departure yesterday:
Starting new things is ingrained in us and we felt that it was the right time for us to explore new adventures. We are very certain and confident that everything will work out very well. Tokobagus.com’s condition has never been this good before.
Arnold’s comment does ring true, as TokoBagus just bagged the Indonesian Top Brands Awards 2012 prize a couple of weeks ago. TokoBagus was always a very ambitious company when Remco talked to us regarding their targets in the coming years. Those targets are now passed down to the new number one at TokoBagus, who seemed very optimistic. Michal stated:
Together with the team, we will continue and grow the TokoBagus.com’s business and provide excellent online transaction services for millions of Indonesians.
Will this move prove to be a troubled era for TokoBagus? Or is it an encouraging changeover at the company’s helm? We’ll be following any TokoBagus’ changes very closely in the coming months.
