Women angel network She1K makes first investment in Singapore-based drone startup

She1K, a global corporate executive women network that enables startups, made its first investment in Singapore-based drone startup Performance Rotors through several angel investors from among its members.

The company invested alongside other institutional and angel investors in the round of funding, according to a statement.

Performance Rotors, an unmanned aerial vehicle solutions company with a core focus on confined-spaces inspection, was selected during the first She1K private pitch. “Performance Rotors was chosen because they have a highly qualified team, acquired some significant reputable customers, and are already revenue generating,” said chief builder Christina Teo.

This process is held every two months with around 10 startups invited to pitch. She1K then decides between two or three shortlisted startups after 2 months by gathering investments from members and co-investing partners.

Founded November of last year by Teo, She1K looks to rally 1,000 corporate women executives to pool funds and embark on angel investing.

Prior to She1K, Teo established Startup Asia Women, a community of women in startups, followed by WomenChangemakers, which showcases corporate female role models.
