Facebook users in Thailand grew by 33% in 3 months to 24 million users (INFOGRAPHIC)

Bangkok-based digital agency EdgeAsia has come up with an infographic on the number and behavior of Thai people online. There’s a strong focus on Facebook, the nation’s top social network.

Here are some interesting numbers:

• In May, we reported 18 million Facebook users in Thailand. Now Thailand has 24 million. That’s a 33 percent increase in the past three months.
• 16 million Facebook users access the social platform through their mobile device. This is not a surprising number, as we’ve seen that mobile penetration in Thailand has already exceeded its population.
• There are more female Thai users (12 million) on the site than men, with women accounting for 51 percent of Facebook users. This is the same trend we saw back in May with 9.3 million female users and 9 million male users.
• The number one activity Thai people do on Facebook is ‘like’ posts (7.1 billion likes are clicked in the nation), followed by sending private messages (5.5 billion) and posting comments (1.3 billion).
