Things aren’t looking good for the tech scene right now, as a looming recession leads to fat-trimming measures and job cuts. Still, there are many tech firms in Asia that want to grow their teams – we take a closer look.
- Some numbers: There have been over 25,000 job openings since May across India, Southeast Asia, and China, and according to Tech in Asia’s analysis, more than 250 startups in these regions are hiring or have announced plans to hire this year.

Key areas: The top industries where hiring is on the up are fintech, ecommerce, and edtech. The healthtech and logistics sectors are also some of the top recruiters among Asian tech startups.

Talent demand: Unsurprisingly, there is a huge demand for those with skills in software engineering and tech development. Sales and business development roles come up second, followed by marketing and analyst functions.
