WeWork launches On Demand app in Singapore, three other countries
US-based WeWork‘s pay-as-you-go app On Demand is now live in four new markets.
This move follows the shared office space provider’s significant growth over the past year in North America, where it now has 200 locations, the SoftBank-backed company said.

Users in Singapore, Australia, Ireland, and the UK can now book workspaces on a per-day basis and conference rooms by the hour through the new app, which is available in 47 cities globally.
Users of On Demand will also have access to stable connectivity and amenities such as phone booths, business-class printers, and unique common areas. Onsite staff will still be present and health and safety measures are regularly implemented.
The WeWork On Demand app is currently focused on ensuring a smooth transition for businesses planning a return to the office as Covid-19 lockdowns are eased, said Balder Tol, general manager for Australia and Southeast Asia at WeWork.
This month, WeWork launched a growth initiative for startups in Singapore, offering subsidies on space, mentorship, and education. It was also earlier reported that the company’s eyeing a public listing through a blank check firm linked to Bow Capital Management and at least one other unnamed acquisition entity.
