These are the weird nicknames for China’s best League of Legends players

As a country very much in love with League of Legends, fans in China have many nicknames for the top professional players. Although they’ve changed throughout the years, and the original meanings behind some may have been lost, we’ve gathered some of the most popular ones for some of the most popular players.

OMG

Left to right: GoGoing, Pomelo, San, Cool, Drug

Big Brother

Player: GoGoing
Position: Top
Reason: Fans originally called GoGoing the Aggressive Big Brother and Vanguard Big Brother because of how he led the charge in team fights. Now, it’s just shortened to Big Brother.

Old Condition, No Condition, Reliable Little Brother

Player: Cool
Position: Mid
Nickname:
Reason: Similar to his game name, Cool always maintains a very steady and “cool” performance. His nicknames refer to his consistency, although sometimes casters poke fun when he does bad by calling him No Condition.

Drug Guide, Black Belly Tactician

Player: Drug/LoveLin
Position: Jungle
Nickname:
Reason: Chinese League of Legends fans often refer to the jungle player as the guide, so Drug Guide is simply his nickname plus position. As for his other nickname, Black Belly is a Chinese term for a man smiling but having evil intentions, while Tactician refers Drug’s ability to come up with different strategies for OMG—evil strategies.
