This acquisition will not only help Pebble with its marketing efforts but also expand its digital footprint through Mensa Brands’ reach in India and international markets and D2C channels.
Founded in 2013, Pebble offers user-friendly personal tech devices, such as fitness wearables, charging solutions, and audio products. Its offerings include Cosmos smartwatch, Comet speaker, and Buds Pro earphones.
Mensa Brands, backed by Accel Partners, Falcon Edge Capital, and Norwest Venture Partners, among others, was founded by CEO Ananth Narayanan. Before this, he was the former CEO of Indian fashion ecommerce company Myntra, the co-founder and CEO of Indian healthcare firm Medlife, and a senior partner at McKinsey.
The deal comes amid increasing demand for wearable technology, which has a market size slated to hit US$90 billion by 2027, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 23.3%, according to ReportLinker.
