SG’s iGlobe Partners eyes new $200m fund for deep-tech investments

Singapore-based VC firm iGlobe Partners is aiming to raise US$200 million for a fund targeting deep-tech startups, Bloomberg reported.

Koh Soo Boon, founding manager of iGlobe, said in an interview at Bloomberg‘s New Economy Forum in Singapore that the VC firm’s strategy lies in leveraging intellectual property to generate revenue. “I’m still sticking to it,” she added.

Once raised, the new investment vehicle would be iGlobe’s fifth fund, adding to the company’s existing assets under management of over US$400 million. One of its latest funds hit its final close in June last year, raising US$100 million to back companies in high-growth areas such as smart cities, synthetic biology, and fintech.

Since 1999, iGlobe has closed over 100 investment deals across Asia, Europe, and the US. Its portfolio firms include Hoolah (acquired by ShopBack), Docquity, Novelship, and Tonik Bank.
