Generative AI startups aren’t just capturing public attention and changing the way we work, they’re also scooping up a serious amount of funding.

The list is not exhaustive, which means that the total amount raised by these AI companies is likely far higher than the US$17 billion shown in the graphic. Additionally, with the figures of a lot of financing rounds undisclosed, Mu has speculated that the total could be two or three times higher.
Tellingly, a lot of the big money seems to have flowed into the category Mu defines as enabling infrastructure, which includes companies like OpenAI. This indicates just how much more room the sector likely has to grow.
