Dell buys Israeli cloud management firm for up to $100m

Global tech giant Dell has acquired Israeli cloud management startup Cloudify in a deal valued between US$70 million and US$100 million, TechCrunch reported, citing a source briefed on the deal.

While Dell made no official announcement on the deal, a spokesperson for the computer maker confirmed the acquisition to TechCrunch without disclosing the deal amount. “This transaction allows Dell to continue to innovate our edge offerings,” the person said.

Cloudify’s platform enables developers to automate the IT infrastructure setup process and make updates across multiple cloud or data center platforms.

According to Crunchbase, Cloudify only raised around US$7 million since being spun out from New York-based ICT firm GigaSpaces Technologies in 2017. Investors in Cloudify include VMware, Intel Capital, and KPN Ventures.
