Putting the telehealth industry under the microscope

Telehealth has been around for a while, but what used to be a convenience enabler has turned into a nigh-essential service with the onset of the pandemic. With lockdown measures in place and hospitals dealing with capacity issues, the ability to give and receive health services virtually is making a difference to both patients and healthcare workers alike.

But the industry’s rise didn’t just happen with a snap of a finger. A lot of changes are being implemented at the hospital administrator and even government level to enable these developments. There’s also the effort to reach the rural populations of Southeast Asia and convince them to adopt solutions that could drastically improve their access to healthcare.

In this episode of Tech in Asia Explains, Biofourmis CEO and founder Kuldeep Singh Rajput, Openspace Ventures director Ian Sikora, and Tech in Asia editor-in-chief Terence Lee talk to us about the latest in the telehealth scene.
