Asia Partners’ co-founders break down the firm’s 2022 Internet Report
In 2019, growth equity firm Asia Partners forecast that the market value of Southeast Asia’s tech companies would soar by a mind-boggling US$425 billion within a decade, starting out with a total of US$86 billion at the time. Two years on, the region’s tech firms are already halfway there.
With a surge in the number of tech unicorns, a slate of upcoming public listings, a shrinking talent gap, and a growth in series C and D deals, Asia Partners is now revising its predictions. It now expects Southeast Asia’s tech companies to add US$750 billion (or US$770 billion if you include figures from telcos) in the next 10 years. That would take their overall market value to US$1.2 trillion by 2031.
