Vida offers identity verification, legally binding and verifiable digital signatures, and a verifiable credentials service. The company also helps businesses verify identities using biometrics and run checks on identity cards against government databases.
Niki Luhur, who was one of Vida’s founders and is currently its executive chairman, formerly served as the CEO of Kartuku, a payment gateway company acquired by Gojek in 2018. He is also the ex-chairman of the Indonesian Fintech Association and is currently a member of its supervisory board.
Vida was also co-founded by CEO Sati Rasuanto, who previously helped in establishing entrepreneur network Endeavor Indonesia, and chief operating officer Gajendran Kandasamy, former chief information officer of payment gateway Xendit.
In a statement, Vida says that it’s registered under the regulatory sandbox of the Indonesian Financial Services Authority and central bank. Vida is also a licensed certificate authority under the country’s Ministry of Communications and Informatics.
The company’s digital signature is currently recognized in over 40 countries, including England, Australia, and the US.
Vida plans to use the fresh funds to hire more employees and improve its technology and go-to-market functions. It also wants to expand its presence across the fintech, banking, insurance and healthcare sectors.
