India’s VentureNursery Takes in 5 New Startups For Its Next Accelerator

We’ve seen two promising Indian startups get seed funding recently and both were graduates of VentureNursery. So the angel-backed startup accelerator is clearly worth watching. VentureNursery’s next intake has just started for ‘season 3’ of incubation, taking in five young tech companies.
After sifting through over 150 submissions from 29 cities, here’s VentureNursery’s next batch for its Mumbai-based 13-week program:
1. Catapooolt
This is a crowdfunding platform for music, movies, and arts projects, claiming to be the first in the world to specialize in this. The site has an especial focus on Asian projects that might fund more support with overseas audiences, such as from the Chinese or Indian diaspora.
Catapooolt’s pair of co-founders and small team have over three decades of experience in media and entertainment, and international film marketing.
2. iLeathergraph
Venturing into manufacturing and e-commerce, iLeathergraph will specialise in personalized and monogrammed leather products, such as business card holders, and iPad and iPhone cases.
The founder is Rattan Joneja, a former venture capitalist who now wants to create a world-class luxury leather goods brand.
3. Peter’s Pan
Unusually, this startup already has some brick-and-mortar restaurants in Pune, which will be the basis for its web-based fast food outlets and delivery service.
4. Perspective.ly
This is a recommendation system for news that’s targeted at online publishers, blogs, and media groups who could make use of it on their sites to engage readers by serving up relevant related content.
5. Trelta
Trelta is a healthcare-oriented app and service aimed at connecting doctors, patients, laboratories, and pharmacies. Its paying customers will be doctors and their clinics.
Shravan Shroff, co founder of VentureNursery, describes the new season’s intake as an impressive bunch:
The third acceleration batch at VentureNursey is unique as all the selected entrepreneurs have valuable previous work-experience and their ventures have already made a mark in their respective sectors.
