The company said in an announcement that users will no longer be able to book appointments for dates beyond December 15, 2019. Appointments for December 16 onwards will be automatically canceled.
Customers with existing bookings at Benefit Cosmetics salons in Singapore until December 24 are still entitled to their bookings, the company said, but appointments made for December 25 and beyond will be automatically canceled.
Before Singapore, Vaniday had also ceased operations in Australia, Italy, United Arab Emirates, Russia, and Brazil. “That was a change in focus from the investor board, to focus – to be very, very laser-focused – on Southeast Asia,” Vaniday CEO Saurabh Chauhan told Tech in Asia back in June.
The head executive also said that the company was planning to expand to more countries in the region, with Thailand and Indonesia standing out as top candidates. Vaniday secured funding at the time to move forward with its strategy.
The company also said it is looking to raise additional funds at a later date this year to support launches in new markets.
It claimed to have around 100,000 registered users on its platform at the time. Chauhan also said that the startup has seen a 2.5x growth in terms of revenue and transactions processed in 2018.
