Facebook, Groupon and Twitter are private companies that have seen their combined value rise 54 percent since June.
Why so? It’s a simple demand and supply theory. Investors are racing to gain a piece of these hot properties. The most recent move was Google’s $6 billion offer to acquire Groupon. But the Groupon team resisted the mouth-watering offer and stayed independent (and that wouldn’t stop Google from going local).
Nyppex reported that Facebook’s value has increased by 56 percent to $41.2 billion. Groupon saw its value quadrupled to $4.8 billion while Twitter more than doubled to $3.71 billion.
These social media companies have monstrous valuation in billions. Groupon’s growth is most impressive for a start-up that is just 2 year-old or 730 days old. If we were to breakdown Groupon’s valuation growth rate in days, it will equate to a $6.6 million value gained per day!
