This picture is the best thing to come out of China’s World Internet Conference

I wasn’t a big fan of China’s World Internet Conference last week. In fact, I called it a sham and said that foreigners who attended should be embarrassed. But even I will admit that one good thing came out of the event: this photo of Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun looking intensely at dozing Qihoo 360 CEO Zhou Hongyi.

The madness began when Zhou himself posted the photo to his Weibo, writing: “When I woke up, I discovered this image on the screen. What is the meaning? Who took it? I really was tired and fell asleep; who can tell me what happened while I was dozing?”

Needless to say, plenty of net users took him up on his offer. Here are just a few of the many, many versions of this new Chinese internet meme (loosely translated).

Lei: You’re home late, and I want to…you know…
Zhou: I’m tired, so you be on top

Lei: Wake up, dammit!
Zhou: LOL fuck off.
