- All upper primary pupils in Singapore are set to have coding classes from 2020, as part of the government’s goal to develop talent and ready them for the digital economy, The Straits Times reports.
- The 10-hour enrichment program, which will be conducted by the country’s Education Ministry and Infocomm Media Development Authority, is scheduled to be piloted this year at some schools for pupils after their Primary School Leaving Examination.
- Code For Fun will consist of simple visual programming-based lessons aimed to develop an appreciation for coding concepts in pupils and expose them to the skill sets needed for the digital economy.
