Misner previously served as advisor and president of Roblox International, helping the gaming firm expand from a being a US-focused and English-only platform to a more global presence in all major languages.
Prior to working at Roblox, Misner spent 12 years at Apple, where he helped the tech giant launch its online store in China and spearheaded Apple’s ecommerce business in the Asia Pacific.
In his new role, Misner will join a board of external directors that includes representatives from Toyota Financial Services Corporation, and SCB 10X – the VC arm of Siam Commercial Bank, to drive Opn’s international expansion.
Founded in 2013, Opn is a fintech ecosystem that provides system integration, end-to-end customized solutions, and digital transformation across financial services and blockchain technology. Aside from Thailand, the company currently has operations in Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
Last month, the firm announced its rebranding from Synqa to Opn as well as a US$120 million series C+ funding round co-led by JIC Venture Growth Investments, MUFG Bank, and Mars Growth Capital. To date, Opn has raised a total of US$222 million.
