After a Month of Quiet Testing, Uber Launches Officially in Taipei

After a month of quiet testing in Taiwan’s capital, Taipei, online car pick-up company Uber has now launched officially in the city.
Uber’s on-demand private drivers can be hailed via the Uber app in Taipei, with the base fare set at NT$126 ($4.20), and a minimum fare of NT$230 ($7.66).
Uber also launched in Seoul last month, but that city’s operations are still in beta for the time being. The firm also operates in Singapore. (UPDATE: There’s a NT$500 discount available for first-time riders in the city throughout August with the TAIPEILOVE promo code).
