Twitter Is Stupid

Twitter BirdFor people who have chosen not to be on Twitter, they would probably say that it is stupid. Yes to a certain extent, it is. Sending a tweet is akin to shouting out loud to everyone else (What else can I say? Welcome to the world wide web.)

It’s worse when you have no one to shout to. I remember how lost I was when I first started out on Twitter. Building a following is tough but pushing yourself to try out a new technology is tougher. If that’s the case, stop procrastinating and start doing something about it.

I’m not here to convince you to join Twitter. Rather, I would like you to have a broader view (I promise, it will be short). The decision still lies with you.

Alright, besides using Twitter for networking and business purposes, we have discovered 14 other cool things that people do on this micro-blogging site. It is a great list but clearly, Twitter is more than all that. Most recently, we have seen how the Twitter community learned about the Haiti and Eureka earthquake incident that went viral online. If you let it, Twitter can be the fastest way to receive breaking news and help out.

So what would you like Twitter to do for you? If you use it stupidly (e.g. spamming), then yes, Twitter is stupid. You probably get the point.

Catch this: Just in case you think Facebook is stupid too.
