The acquisition includes GoBear’s trademark and digital assets, covering domains, website content, and social channels in seven markets: Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Under the deal, GoBear’s website content will become part of Finder and its local services. Meanwhile, the GoBear brand will continue to operate via social media and email channels.

“Like Finder, GoBear has been committed to improving the financial wellbeing of its audience, with over 55 million people having visited its website since its launch in 2015 to make better-informed decisions,” said Frank Restuccia, Finder’s founder and global CEO.

Based in Singapore, GoBear is a comparison site for insurance, credit cards, and loans. In January, the startup said it would cease its operations due to the challenging environment brought about by Covid-19.

Founded in 2006, Finder offers personal finance products such as credit cards, home loans, and savings accounts as well as online shopping, cryptocurrency, and share trading. It is also expanding into new areas.

The GoBear acquisition comes three years after Finder began operations in Southeast Asia. With more than 10 million consumers globally every month, the company has offices in the US, UK, Canada, Poland, and the Philippines.
