Paradatheth will helm the internet major’s tech initiatives across its delivery, mobility, and financial services businesses. His focus will be on bolstering the company’s infrastructure and enabling deeper synergies between its services, among other things.

“His strong track record in developing highly scalable and robust systems […] gives us confidence that he is the right leader to take our technical organisation to the next level,” said Tan Hooi Ling, co-founder of Grab.

Paradatheth served as Grab’s first technical lead when the firm was founded in 2012. In 2020, he was promoted to CTO of the company’s mobility, deliveries, experiences, as well as automation and platform excellence.

Throughout his career with Grab, the executive has led over 1,000 engineers, data scientists, and technical program managers across various countries.

The management move comes after Grab reported strong revenue growth and shrinking losses in the second quarter of this year. However, this was not enough to feed investor appetite, as Grab’s shares slumped following its earnings announcement.
