Funding round-up from India: News in Shorts, Bluestone, Shopcity, Infinity Assurance Solutions

Over US$5 billion of venture capital funding flowed into Indian startups last year. This year, the deals are coming thicker and faster. So we thought it would be useful to start a daily digest of startup funding in India.
Hereβs todayβs funding round-up:
News in Shorts
News in Shorts, the app that publishes news stories in the form of bite-sized 60-word pieces, has raised US$20 million funding from its existing investor, Tiger Global.
News in Shorts was founded in September 2014 by Azhar Iqubal, Anunay Pandey, and Deepit Purkayastha.
Bluestone
Ratan Tata-backed Jewellery estore Bluestone has raised US$15.7 million from a group of investors led by IvyCap Ventures, Accel Partners, and Dragoneer Investment Group. Its existing investors, Kalaari Capital and Saama Capital, also participated in this round.
Shopcity
Shopcity, an app that offers information on the fashion merchandize being sold in the userβs vicinity, has raised seed funding from Sandeep Agarwal, founder and former CEO of ShopClues and Teruhide Sato, founder of Netprice (now Beenos). Shopcity was founded by Danish Ahmed, former CEO of Yebhi.
Infinity Assurance Solutions
Indian Angel Network (IAN) has invested US$630,000 in Infinity Assurance Solutions. The investment was led by Vishal Lalani, managing director of Indication Instruments and Ajai Chowdhry, founder of HCL. Infinity Assurance Solutions has expertise in manufacturer warranty and offers service administration of warranty programs for a wide range of products, across various sectors.
