TinyOwl flies into Bangalore and Delhi, hoots to foodies

Tiny Owl

“Start hooting for good food,” tweeted TinyOwl today in Bangalore, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, and Pune.

This location-based food ordering service was available only in Mumbai until now. It raised US$16 million in February to expand across India. Now it’s found a nest in four more cities.

The one-year-old startup is sponsoring Mumbai Indians, the richest cricket team in the hugely popular ongoing IPL tournament. This was aimed at increasing visibility across the country.

TinyOwl detects a user’s location and delivers orders from nearby restaurants as well as home-made food from local chefs. The rapid increase in smartphone usage is driving traction for such apps, which busy professionals in urban India find very useful.

Just two days ago, another location intelligent food app Dazo, based in Bangalore, announced funding from a host of high profile angel investors, including the bosses of Amazon and Google in India.
