Tiny Dice Dungeon (TDD) puts you in the shoes of a would-be hero as you venture into a pixelated world ravaged by angry mobs of monsters. Your task, as if you had any choice at all to ignore it, is to stave off a monster horde hell bent on attacking humans. With your huge sword and trusty dice, you are off on an adventure full of killing and capturing monsters.
Yes, you read me right, you have your trusty dice with you along the way.
In Tiny Dice Dungeon, the player makes use of six-sided dice rolls to determine attack damage and hit chances. You can stack up on damage and on gold if you continue to successfully re-roll. However once you roll a one, it’s game over for your attempt.
You can also capture the monsters that you kill. You first have to roll an amount equal to the lone monster’s health. There cannot be other monsters on screen. Once you successfully do this, the capture attempt instance activates. In this instance, your rolls have to match a specific random number generated by the game before you can successfully capture the monster. If you fail to do it, the monster escapes, though thankfully not taking some of your life when it does.
Captured monsters can become your partners in the game, and can either attack or act as your support. The success of their attacks are also subject to dice rolls.
As you can see, dice are every where in TDD. Dice rolls are also used to deal out status ailments, amplify attack damage or cause elemental damage to targets. Dice can be crafted from blueprints purchased from an NPC. However, to complete these recipes, you need to acquire parts dropped by the monsters you kill.
TDD’s multiplayer mode doesn’t differ all that much from the solo quest system. In multiplayer, you will fight against other heroes in asynchronous battles, and your victories are rewarded with special dice called trophy dice. Trophy dice contribute to your points system in the leaderboards, and can be claimed by other players if you are defeated in multiplayer mode.
