Tony Qiu, the international business boss of Kuaishou Technology, has exited the company amid a management reshuffle within the TikTok rival, Bloomberg reported, citing sources briefed on the matter.
He departed the Chinese firm due to personal reasons, and a replacement has yet to be made, the sources added.
Qiu joined Kuaishou in 2020 to lead the company’s short video app in global markets, including Southeast Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East. He came from Didi Global, where he was part of the ride-hailer’s international team.
The development comes just months after Kuaishou’s former CEO Su Hua stepped down from the role and was succeeded by fellow co-founder Cheng Yixiao. In January, the company also named Jin Bing, a former executive at edtech startup Zuoyebang, as its CFO.
In December 2021, it was reported that Kuaishou was set to lay off 30% of its workforce, starting with employees in the short video firm’s international business unit.
