Indian business messaging app’s valuation jumps to $1.4b after Tiger Global funding
India-based business communications app Gupshup announced it has raised US$100 million in its latest round of funding at a valuation of US$1.4 billion.

- Gupshup in a statement said it’s looking to announce a second close for the round, which would see more investors coming on board.
- It plans to use the new funds for research and development, marketing activities, and hiring for its product and engineering teams.
- The company tells Tech in Asia that it will also use the fresh funds for acquisition of businesses that are complementary to its own.
- To date, the startup claims it provides over 100,000 developers and businesses with messaging and chatbot development services for ecommerce, retail, and financial industry use.
