Hearthstone: Curse of Naxxramas prices for English-speaking Asia will follow US
The Curse of Naxxramas expansion for Blizzard’s free-to-play collectible card game, Hearthstone, is now well on its way for a release this month, with the announcement of prices and access to it.
Similar to its World of Warcraft dungeon counterpart, Naxxramas for Hearthstone will have five wings, with one opening per each passing week.
The Arachnid Quarter, Plague Quarter, Military Quarter, Construct Quarter, and Frostwyrm Lair will open in order, with the Arachnid Quarter being free to enter during the launch. The actual event launch will last for about a month; that’s a lot of time to play around in! During that time, you’ll be able to duke it out with the bosses Anub’Rekhan, Grand Widow Faerlina, and Maexxna, who will deliver new cards once defeated. The entire Naxxramas adventure will yield 30 new cards.
(See: What does your favorite Hearthstone class say about you?)
The next four wings of Naxxramas for Hearthstone can be unlocked for 700 gold or $6.99 each, or purchased via bundles, prices pictured below. The Asia regions lacking dedicated service (unlike China and Korea) play on American servers, so you can expect to see the same prices in-game. For iOS users, expect to see prices converted to your respective currencies when the event launches.
Unfortunately, purchasing the wings in bundles will not speed up their opening. Each Naxxramas wing will still open one-per-week. But there’s still more in store for when you do finally clear them.
Just like in World of Warcraft, Naxxramas for Hearthstone will also feature the Heroic mode (LFM H Naxx!), which will unlock when all wings are cleared. Bosses here are tougher than in normal mode, and players who triumph over them will earn a new card back.
This pricing announcement was originally slated for July 1, 2014, but was delayed until this week. With days in July starting to tick past, we’ll soon see if it is a harbinger of further delays on Curse of Naxxramas!
We’ve reached out for further comment on pricing in China, and will report back in when we have it.
