The Stage: New Singapore technology trade show in 2015 by MediaCorp and SiTF
A new technology trade show will open shop in Singapore in two years time. Called The Stage, it is a platform for companies in the tech industry to showcase their products. The event is organized by Singapore’s largest broadcaster MediaCorp and the Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF).
While exact dates are undecided, the event will occur over three days at Marina Bay Sands. In the vein of prominent US trade show CES, it aims to attract over 250 exhibitors in these sectors:
- audio and visual
- connected home devices
- digital imaging/photography
- telecommunications
- electronic gaming and music
- robotics
- computer hardware and software
- lifestyle electronics
- automotive electronics
Beyond exhibitions, the conference will feature keynote presentations and panel discussions by thought leaders. It will have a headline concert with celebrities, no doubt leveraging on MediaCorp’s strengths.
“We believe the marriage between the glamorous and colorful entertainment with the geeky and innovative ICT industry would spark an interesting show that all should anticipate,” said Eddie Chau, serial entrepreneur and chairman of SiTF.
Exhibition space will cost between SGD465 (USD375) and SGD565 (USD450). Early bird pricing will be disclosed later.
While a mainstay in traditional media, MediaCorp has in recent years been modernizing itself. It has ventured into — among other things — mobile apps, e-commerce, startup incubation, and venture capital investing.
