The Konami Code unlocks some ba’al busting delight in Bravely Default

The crafty little monkeys over at Square Enix have hidden a delightful treat in the opening menu of Bravely Default. Those who have completed the game, have already seen the post-credits introduction to Bravely Default, but for those who have not, you can now do so at will.

Simply select your game, and place the cursor on the bottom option, like the picture below.

Then input the Konami code. For those of you who can’t remember, the code is; up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A. If you do it correctly you should hear a “Tiz!” from your 3DS and this option should appear at the bottom:

Honestly it’s a really cool movie, and it makes good use of the gyroscope function. We saw the opening movie of Bravely Default use the same technology, but its got nothing on this new one. If you want my advice, stand in an open space before starting the movie because you need to spin like a mad man to keep up with all the action.

If you haven’t managed to complete the game, don’t worry, it’s not too spoilerific but it does give away some hints about the ending. Nothing major but if you’re a stickler for that type of thing you may want to wait until you’ve beaten the game.

One thing that we learned from this hidden trailer is that Bravely Second will feature a character whose profession is Ba’al buster. Pronounced: “ball buster.” Sold!
