Line helps typhoon Haiyan victims in the Philippines with new sticker pack

The news about the distress and suffering in the aftermath of super-typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines is causing a great deal of alarm. Many organizations are trying to help through the use of the internet and mobile tools, while other groups are collecting donations. The popular messaging app Line is doing something a bit different – collecting money via a new sticker pack.

Line is well known for its vast collection of animated stickers. Today it has launched a new collection called “Pray for the Philippines”. The set is free in the Philippines, but will cost you 50 Line ‘coins’ in other nations, which is the equivalent of about $0.99. All proceeds will be donated to the Philippine Red Cross to help rebuild damaged cities and ruined lives. The stickers will be available until December 12.
