In family-run businesses, it’s common that the next generation takes over. Korawad Chearavanont, the grandson of one of Thailand’s richest men, however, is branching out on his own.

The scion of the family behind conglomerate Charoen Pokphand Group Company Limited (CP Group) helped raise US$60 million for his AI startup, Amity Solutions, in July.

In our story, we explore if the new funding round was justified, given that the startup’s main product is generative AI-enabled chatbots, which isn’t an entirely new concept. Yet, Korawad’s product is now used by over 20 enterprises in and out of Thailand, including affiliates of CP Group.
