Cryptocurrency exchange Bitkub’s operations in Thailand has been declared legal.

The company received the license to operate beginning January 8 from the Thai Ministry of Finance.

The ministry is the main regulator of the country’s crypto industry.

Thailand-based Bitkub allows customers to buy, sell, and store cryptocurrencies. It is now one of three crypto exchanges that have been granted licenses to operate in the country, according to the company’s Medium post.

Thailand has become a critical market for cryptocurrencies in Asia after it approved crypto and initial coin offering regulations last year. In June, it authorized seven cryptocurrency firms to operate and allowed crypto exchanges, brokerage firms, and dealers to apply for operating licenses.
