Tencent-backed Chinese jobs portal looks to raise $912m in US listing
“Kanzhun, the owner of Chinese online recruitment platform Boss Zhipin, is looking to raise as much as US$912 million in its US initial public offering, braving the market at a time when many other companies are choosing to wait on the sidelines,” Bloomberg reported.
Details:
- The Tencent-backed company will offer 48 million American depositary shares with the price range of US$17 and US$19 per share. It will set the final share price on June 10.
- The fresh funds it will raise will be used for investment in technology infrastructure and research and development. Goldman Sachs Group, Morgan Stanley, and UBS Group will lead the IPO.
Context:
- Kanzhun developed the Boss Zhipin mobile app, which connects job seekers and employers. In November 2019, Tencent led a round of funding in the online recruitment platform.
- Should Kanzhun’s final share price fall within the higher end of its stated range, the listing could be the biggest IPO by a Chinese company in the US, after software firm Tuya Inc.’s US$947 million listing in March.
