Ex-PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) crypto head Henri Arslanian has established Nine Blocks Capital Management, a digital asset fund, in Dubai, Forkast reported. He has reportedly stayed a senior advisor at PwC.
His fund recently received US$75 million from backers such as Hong Kong’s Nine Masts Capital. Nine Blocks Capital has already hired three Cayman Islands-based portfolio managers.
The firm has gained provisional regulatory approval in Dubai. Arslanian chose to make the city his headquarters as opposed to Asian business capitals Hong Kong or Singapore due to its more relaxed crypto regulations.
Regardless, he said Nine Blocks may set up a branch in another Asian city in the future.
Established in March of this year, Arslanian founded Nine Blocks alongside Andrew Goodwin, who was previously the vice president of equity sales trading at Deutsche Bank.
