Built on the Polygon network, Crypto Unicorns lets users hatch, evolve, and breed unicorns. They can use the unicorns for farming, race them, or participate in battles. Crypto Unicorns NFTs occupy three of the top ten spots on OpenSea’s top charts.
Funds raised via token sales are held in the Crypto Unicorns DAO treasury, where participants will play a key role in future governance decisions.
Developed by Laguna Games, a Web3 game development and research and development studio, Crypto Unicorns has also made 2,200 ethers (US$5.7 million) by selling NFTs of characters and lands, which included 10,000 unicorns and 30,000 land plots.
“Crypto Unicorns is one of the first blockchain games that players of all types can enjoy,” said Yan Liberman, co-founder of Delphi Digital. “The Crypto Unicorns multiverse will offer many different types of experiences that players themselves can have a hand in building.”
