VIVAnews Offers iPad 2, More Prizes, In Blogging Competition

Want to win a free iPad 2 as a result of your blogging? One Indonesian site is making that offer. News portal VIVAnews.com has partnered with telco giant XL Axiata to run a blogging competition called GoVlog. After a simple registration, anyone can join the competition; your blog posts must be shared on Vlog, VIVAnews’ blog portal, to be eligible.

The competition is divided into two categories: Ramadan, and general. Blog posts for either category need to be unique and funny for a chance to win. There’s a social media aspect to this campaign, of course – contestants must then share their blog posts on Twitter with the hashtag #GoVlog and follow both the XL and VIVAnews Twitter accounts.

Contestants can win more than just an iPad 2. Other prizes include an iPad 2, but also a MacBook, a BlackBerry handset, 3G modems, and numerous VIVAnews goodies. The competition lasts until September 16 for the Ramadan category, and October 31st for general posts. So there’s still plenty of time to write down any funny or witty experiences on your blog to try win these prizes.

Indonesian bloggers are now quite active both online and offline, there are other blog competitions and various community events such as On|Off, and Amprokan.

Promos like this might stimulate people’s interest to become more creative, original, and productive in using the Internet. It’ll also help both VIVA and XL to get more Twitter followers.
