Sayurbox founder backs Indonesian beverage brand’s series B1

Haus, an Indonesia-based beverage brand, has raised an undisclosed amount of series B1 funding from Strategic Year Holdings, Prasetia Dwidharma, and Atlas Global Ventures, as well as Sayurbox co-founder Rama Notowidigdo.

Founded in 2018, Haus provides made-to-order beverages including tea, milk tea, chocolate drinks, and coffee. It targets the lower middle segment by offering products at affordable prices.

The company said it increased its sales by around 50% from US$11 million in 2020 to US$17.5 million in 2021. It also saw its number of outlets double in the same period, and it aims to expand to Bali island and launch its own app this year.

“Amid the funding winter cycle that happened today, Haus is an interesting investment because it has achieved profitability and doesn’t depend on external funding,” said Arya Setiadharma, CEO of Prasetia Dwidharma.

Haus was established by entrepreneur Gufron Syarif, along with his friends Daman Wijaya, Ferry Ardian Akbar, and Sigit. In 2020, it raised US$2 million in a series A funding round from BRI Ventures’ Sembrani Nusantara Fund.
