Announcing our $38m Tech in Asia Fund

tech in asia fund

Our very nice Tech in Asia Fund logo.

We have a big announcement to make today.

Tech in Asia is announcing Tech in Asia Fund, a US$38 million fund aimed at early stage and Series A startups. The fund will be led by Terence Lee (our managing editor) and Andrew Wang (our COO). I’ll remain as the company’s CEO overseeing all of our business units including the fund.

Tech in Asia’s mission is to serve the tech and startup ecosystem in Asia. We have worked towards the mission by uncovering promising startups, reporting about news in the tech scene, and connecting people at our events. And as we continue to connect with more founders, it became clear to us that we are missing out on a lot of good opportunities.

We would love to work with great entrepreneurs and nothing beats investing in them directly. As a bonus, investing in startups let us put our skin in the game and makes us walk the talk.

Tech in Asia Fund’s partner, Terence explained more:

Tech in Asia Fund aims to invest in good, smart, and cultured founders. In our numerous interviews with startup entrepreneurs, we have developed a pattern to recognize good founders from the crowd.

With our proprietary data, we plan to develop an algorithm to filter out genuine and smart founders much more efficiently.

We will diligently continue to report on the tech scene and run Tech in Asia conferences for the tech community. Needless to say, we will continue to stay neutral and work with anyone genuine and sincere in the community. Happy April Fools’ Day! (:
