Community team (L-R): Daniel, Minh, Huiyi
Hello TIA Community!
I am Daniel, the community guy for Tech in Asia (TIA)! I run the scheduling and co-ordination for the AMA’s, so it is pretty ironic that I am hosting one now. Ironies aside, my two awesome team members (Minh and Huiyi) are also here to answer your questions!
What you can ask
- What we do on a day-to-day basis
- What we think is the culture of our TIA community
- Who are our users and how is it like interacting with them
- How you can contribute articles on TIA
- TIA’s community direction and upcoming plans
These are just some suggested topics, but really, we are open to answer anything. Bring it on!
More about each of us
Daniel (or Dan) has an insane passion for cars. He spends most of his free time dreaming of becoming a race-car driver. Prior to TIA, Dan handled media relations and social media for an international racing team. His other passion is music, where he plays a couple of instruments, mixes, and produces songs at his leisure.
Huiyi, the community girl, leads the TIA community team. She is always looking out for everyone and will be the first to reach out to you – our awesome community users, much quicker than we can say, “have you seen this?” Prior to TIA, she worked in Beijing for a year in a kids mobile app startup. Huiyi is also known for her petite size (if you look carefully, she’s tippy-toeing in the photo above) and loves coffee, yoga and good puns.
Minh, our community (and insights) editor, was based in Vietnam for the last 8 years but recently moved to Singapore. He has run multiple projects to evangelize and support the Vietnam’s startup ecosystem and as the community editor, he moderates all community posts that come through TIA. It is often, across the table from me, he shouts “THOU SHALL NOT PASS!” whenever he finds a post not up-to-par. He’s a blues violinist, scifi and comic books nerd, hip hop connoisseur, and a loving husband.
So, ask away! We want to hear from you. 🙂
