Heroes of the Storm alpha test now available for Southeast Asia: here's what to take note of

It came in quietly like a Night Elf Archer in the moonlight, so if you haven’t yet checked your Battle.net launcher, you should. You might just end up smiling like we did yesterday:

hotss

Hehehe.

The technical alpha for Heroes of the Storm has no non-disclosure agreement on it, so you’re free to share information on the game, or even to stream it. Blizzard has also supported Southeast Asia’s technical alpha experience by enabling regional game servers. While the region has its own game server, this is simply a physical server to help provide a better gameplay experience. The actual game server has no region restriction and you will be able to play with gamers from the US.

Shop purchases for the region have also been enabled. While the shop currently supports a variety of currency, all purchases made from accounts located in Southeast Asia will be billed in US dollars.

A blog post on Battle.net also notes that since this is still the alpha stage of the game, there will be account wipes whenever the development team reaches a new test phase. Account wipes will completely obliviate all experience gained and quest progress made, while also getting rid of heroes, skins, and mounts. Any real money spent will be returned to you via a Battle.net Balance credit.

If you don’t have Heroes of the Storm access just yet, don’t cry! Don’t go back to Dota 2 or League of Legends! You can actually opt in to participate in testing via your Battle.net account’s beta profile settings page.

That’s all you have to take note of for now. We’re going to dive into the game now, so stay tuned for more Heroes of the Storm coverage on your favorite Asian gaming website!
