Do you find yourself having difficulty reaching media outlets to spread the word about your startup? Are you spending hours sitting in front of your laptop, blasting cold emails to all the media that you can think of?

If this a familiar scene for you, then you’re in luck. Tech in Asia will be saving you time and increasing your chances of having your startup covered by one or more of our participating media outlets by having you meet them face-to-face next week at Tech in Asia Tokyo 2015.

We’ve got a range of participating media outlets from Japan and across the globe – American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, Associated Press, Disrupting Japan, Dow Jones, Geeks in Cambodia, Harvard Business Review Japan, Ignition, IT Media, Japan Daily, Japan Today, Logmi, NewsPicks, Nikkei, Nikkei Asian Review, Nikkei Business Publications, NNA Japan, Orient News, Reuters, Shoeisha, The Guardian, The Korea Herald, The Verge, Toyo Keizai, Voice of America, and Wired Japan.

In addition, media folks from ASCII, BeSuccess, Courrier Japon, Forbes Japan, Ishin, The Bridge, and of course Tech in Asia will each have a booth at Meet the Media pavilions, where startups will have five minutes to pitch to journalists and editors.

Why pitch?

It’s not hard to see why pitching to the media is an easy way to get the word out to potential investors and customers. Here’s a quick rundown of each media outlet that you’ll get to pitch to at Meet the Media:

ASCII

ASCII Media Works is a Japanese publisher and brand company of Kadokawa Corporation. Apart from specializing in the publishing of books, entertainment and computer magazines, manga, as well as video games, it also deals with computing and enterprises related to IT, such as the publication of “Weekly ASCII*, along with other PC and IT magazines.

BeSuccess

BeSuccess is a tech and media channel for Korean startups, featuring startup interviews and a variety of funding news from around the world. Through its media platform available in both Korean and English, as well as their global events in Seoul and Silicon Valley, BeSuccess hopes to support Korean startups in their ambitions to enter the global market, to raise funds from overseas investors, and to gain partners for global expansion.

Courrier Japon

Courrier Japon translates and publishes excerpts of articles from more than 1,500 publications sources from around the world, covering a wide range of topics. Courrier Japon was launched in 2005 and is published by Kodansha.

Forbes Japan

Forbes Japan is a business magazine that focuses on both established business leaders who have led the way in Japan and around the world, as well as on today’s entrepreneurs who will become the leaders of tomorrow.

Forbes Japan primarily targets corporate leaders in their 40s and 50s who are the drivers of Japanese business and its economy. Over 20 percent of Forbes Japan readers are finance industry professionals, while more than 10 percent of readers have annual income in excess of JPY 50 million (US$413,000).

Ishin

Ishin is a Japanese media company that publishes magazines and operates web media, with a network of over 50,000 company executives in Japan.

The Bridge

The Bridge is a media blog to connect entrepreneurs and investors, covering the latest tech news in Japan. The Bridge is visited by about 540,000 unique users each month, with a reach of 16,000 and 30,000 on Facebook and Twitter respectively.

Tech in Asia

Tech in Asia is the online community for Asia’s technology and startup ecosystem – a platform for readers to keep abreast of Asia’s tech industry and join the community while connecting with startups and investors alike. With 2.1 million pageviews from Asia and the United States, Tech in Asia’s readers are mainly made up of investors, potential partners, tech-savvy early adopters and large corporations. Both our English-speaking and Japanese editorial team will be at the Meet the Media sessions, so don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

How can I participate?

Simple. If you haven’t already gotten your passes to Tech in Asia Tokyo 2015, do so now. If you’re interested to attend our Meet the Media session, head over to the Meet the Media pavilion to get your queue number. Find out what time each media outlet will be scheduled to be there.
