STGCC 2014: the gaming bits you may have missed

Did you visit this year’s Singapore Toy, Game, and Comic Convention (STGCC)? This comic con’s street cred grows with each successive year as organizer Reed Exhibitions brings down more and more famous guests. Still, the focus is largely on mainstream geekery and comic-related stuff, so you need to be hugely appreciative of Western pop culture for your S$20 (about $16) ticket to be worth it.

Here’s the gaming-related stuff we managed to see when we visited.

We also bumped into Annabella Goh, a Singaporean artist. Goh’s artwork was featured in Payday 2: The Heist, alongside illustrations from fellow artists Darius Cheong, Ray Toh, and Ben Qwek.

Cherry Credits also had on display a preview of its upcoming mobile game, Coin Hunter. Check out how it works:

You essentially flip coins to earn them, and you can buy different avatars.

Indie figurine studio Kinetiquettes also exhibited at STGCC 2014, showing off a sleek Evil Ryu figurine as well as a conceptual floating Dhalsim.
