2009 was a long time ago and it’s entirely possible that, like me, you have forgotten most of the events in the first installment of the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy. It’s also possible that you just missed the prior two episodes entirely and have neither the time nor patience required to play through them both before playing Final Fantasy XII: Lightning Returns.

Poor naming aside, the video is great and does a really good job of bringing everyone up to speed for the release of_ Final Fantasy XII Lightning Returns_ in Europe, North America and Australia this February.
As someone who never played XIII-2 I am now seriously considering picking up a copy of Lightening Returns. Well played Square Enix, well played.
