Souniq, Indonesia’s First Homegrown Music Application on the Cloud

For music lovers in Indonesia, you now can enjoy music through homegrown application Souniq Music. This application enables users to enjoy music on smartphones such as BlackBerry, iPhone, or Android-based phones, as well as on computers.
Souniq Music is a cloud music system. With a feature called ‘Auto-Synchrone,’ users can update their music playlists on all devices. This music player application is currently loading three million songs that you can listen to on a mobile phone. The songs are presented according to the managed profile and Discography which allow users to search for the songs they like. With Fulltrack download, users can also enjoy their playlist offline.

Souniq Music also provides special features such as Souniq Video that provides Indonesian songs from various genres such as pop rock, dangdut, ethnic, or religious. The Souniq Karaoke feature is also interesting, although the karaoke song collections are still somewhat limited. The application is free for Facebook and the web, but again the collection is limited. By paying $2.30 per month, users gain full access to the service.
As more Indonesians move online (and onto platforms like Facebook, music lovers are going to want to bring their tunes with them. And Souniq is one solution for those people. It is the first local music application in Indonesia, and it just might be able to follow the example of Baidu Ting in China, providing a local online music solution for the country. Hopefully Souniq will be careful enough to not trip over the problem of illegal music content.
